Ainsley Phillips is a soon to be 15 year old aspiring young country singer who started at the age of 6. Over the years, she has been performing at many of the Ottawa Valley, and surrounding area, talent shows. She has been progressing in stage performance appearing with different bands and musicians as a guest performer for local fairs and festivals. From National Anthems at local minor hockey games, to small sets with local talent, she is enjoying getting out there and singing. Most importantly though, she is a quiet old soul that enjoys spending time with family, animals and hanging out at Main Street School of Music were she is mentored and given music knowledge through lessons from a variety of talented musicians.
It was in 2016, at the age of 12, when she entered and won both the 18 and under divisions of the Kingston Country singing showdown and the Nipissing Country Music Association – Northern Ontario Open Singing Contest that she realized that she may have the type of talent to perform as a country vocalist. Most recently, in 2017, she became a finalist in the Valley Heritage Radio “Search for a Star” competition.
She was thrilled to be selected as a finalist in the Ottawa Blues Festival “She’s The One” Canada-wide search for young female vocalist in the summer of 2017. She is grateful for the opportunities that Bluesfest and Festival House have been providing her over the past year to help her learn and grow as a young artist.
Ainsley is very excited to open for Kelly Prescott at the Snow Road Community Centre on Sunday September 30th at 3:00PM.
