For painters and musicians, the story begins with a blank canvas. The tools of the trade are different, but each are familiar to Kingston, Ontario-based indie-folk artist, Julia Finnegan. As a painter, colours are the words used to convey images, and as a singer-songwriter, she is able to paint images with her words.
Her songs are well-crafted, poignant, and thoughtful, with melodies that are both captivating and memorable. Her sound is unique, and there is a maturity to her lyrics that is well beyond her years. Julia is entering her second year in the Bachelor of Fine Art Program at Queen’s University.
