Lost For Words provides an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary songs and ballads, as well as some toe-tapping Irish/Celtic, Appalachian and Québecois instrumentals, at times accentuated with some energetic Appalachian clogging. Their warm vocal arrangements of songs ranging from traditional folk and gospel to modern topical songs provide an inviting environment where the audience is encouraged to sing along.
Bruce Barton, Pippa Hall and John Henderson formed Lost For Words in 2014. Pippa and John have been playing as a duo for many years with a wide and varied repertoire of traditional and topical folk music in Québec, Ontario and the central prairies; Bruce has played for a number of years in folk groups, duos, old-time bands and Celtic ensembles locally and previously in the U.S. Midwest. As a trio, they have been entertaining audiences in and around Ottawa with their rich blend of harmonies, whether a capella or accompanied by a variety of acoustic instruments (guitar, banjo, mandolin, mountain dulcimer and more).
