Golden Links Hall is the well-loved home of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows & Rebekahs, a non-profit fraternal organization dedicated to the betterment of its community. When the Order’s lodges were first instituted in Harrowsmith in 1952, its members rented a hall to hold their biweekly meetings. This building burnt to the ground in 1972. The following year, the Order built its own hall, calling it the Golden Links Hall in honour of the three links on one of the Order’s emblems. A short five years later, after lots of community support, countless fundraising initiatives and hundreds of volunteer hours, the Odd Fellows & Rebekahs burnt their mortgage.
Today, the Golden Links Hall is rented out for weddings, bridal and baby showers, sports banquets, funerals, and much more. Every month, the Odd Fellows & Rebekahs host dinners, youth dances for area public school children and performances by the Ole Time Fiddlers. The hall is also the preferred venue for eagerly anticipated annual events like craft and bake sales, and the Harrowsmith Fish Fry.
