Small Halls 2019 lineup on the horizon

Are we edging closer to a schedule announcement?! Yes, we are!

It’s almost June, and that means that in a few weeks we’ll
be releasing the lineup and halls for the 2019 Ontario Festival of Small Halls.

The festival dates are set for September 12 to 29, 2019 and we can’t wait to share who will be gracing Small Halls stage across Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley this year! You are in for a treat.

As of right now, we have selected the participating venues for the coming Festival season and every day we’re getting artists committed and finalizing dates with our amazing hall hosts.

We want to take a minute to thank all of the halls that applied to participate this year. Big high fives!

There are also more tricks up our sleeves for the coming season which will let you discover even more rural Ontario beauty. We’ll share soon – we promise.

As you have likely heard, we unfortunately had to say goodbye to an incredibly supportive hall host from Tatlock this month. Doug Fleming was community minded and a great champion of the arts. He will be missed terribly by the Small Halls gang. One of our board members and emcees, Jim Mountain, penned a lovely tribute to Doug and you can read it here.

Did you see our round up of photos from last year? There are a few posted here on a slideshow. This is by no means all the pics taken, but a smattering of them to whet your appetite for this year! If you have other great photo memories, please feel free to share on our Facebook page or by emailing publicity@thefestivalofsmallhalls.com. We would love to hear from you!

Did you know that we’re looking forward to continuing with our Chef’s Table events that we tried out last year? Small Halls had so much fun welcoming a sold out crowd to the outdoor country feast in Kilmaurs that we’re anxious to share the love and incorporate even more local food and talented chefs in other locations. Stay tuned for more on that, too!

Let’s cross our fingers that June will be ushered in with sunshine and actual spring-like weather. We know our upcoming lineup announcement will be hot, but we’d like the temps outside to co-operate, too!
