Can you hear the jingle bells ringing in the distance? Our Deck the Small Halls series starts in less than a month as we welcome brilliant Canadian artists to small stages across Eastern Ontario.
We have some great news! In our first weekend we’re rolling out the red carpet for the Fortunate Ones, right? They’re performing in Almonte, Seeley’s Bay and Merrickville. We got word recently that Small Halls alumnus, Sherman Downey, will be joining them as a special guest! We’re so excited – you may remember Sherman drinking tea on stage while he was performing with Matthew Byrne back in 2016. The Fortunate Ones were exciting enough with their dynamic live performances, effortless union of voices in harmony, and anthemic melodies, but having Sherman join them is just the icing on the cake!
We’re also excited to report that some of our hall hosts have taken on organizing events surrounding a few of the shows. One example is taking place at Quinn’s of Tweed Fine Art Gallery before the Royal Wood show at the Marble Arts Centre. Quinn’s of Tweed is inviting Deck the Small Halls ticket holders to a pre-gathering private event to kick off the Royal Woods show on Saturday, Nov. 30. Drop into this gorgeous 150 year old building any time between 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. to see many historical and contemporary works of art. Light refreshments will be served. We have heard of a few other events preceding shows, but details are still being finalized so stay tuned!
Did you know that our holiday show offering has grown each year? We’re now into our fourth year of putting together a festive series and we’re up to 13 shows from Nov. 29 to Dec. 20. We’re in communities from Dacre to Brockville and from Manotick to Athens. Our hall-iday shows are known for their welcoming and warm atmosphere, with traditional and new holiday music and a smattering of stories and easy-going laughs thrown in for good measure. Extra points for wearing red or green!
Tickets are flying so check out the full schedule here and get festive with us.
